This was the drive home from work tonight. I probably shouldn't be taking photos while I'm driving but I thought it would make an interesting photo to get the windshield wiper in the photo with the rain.

This is a picture of our car from the hotel room window. I thought it was an interesting perspective of the car since you don't normally see it from the top.

I don't really remember why I took this photo other than it was more blossoms during the spring.

The Boise river is running really high this year. They have been releasing water to make room for what is coming from the higher mountains. The river has actually been running above flood stage, which you can see in this photo. Normally the trees in the upper right of the photo are not out in the water.

Here are some more blossoms. In this case, I really liked the contrast of the white blossoms agains the blue background of the sky.

The moon was really prominent this afternoon when we were out for a walk. I don't think this shot really does the moon justice. There are several things I am fascinated with in photos and the moon is one of them. If you search the internet for moon photos there are thousands of shots that are really magnificent. I have captured a few shots over the years that I think are pretty good. I suppose I will continue to take pictures of moon and hopefully someday I will get one of those awesome ones.

More flowers blossoming. I didn't really pay attention to the background when I shot this photo. Now that I'm looking at it, I wish I had moved either left or right before I snapped the shutter so that the tree in the background was positioned differently.  I guess that's why we take lots of photos.

Fall is in the air. I'll probably have more photos of flowers for the next while as they all start to bloom and blossom.

This is another photo that would probably work better as a video since the wallpaper is what's called a live wallpaper, meaning that it has motion going on in the background. I like the realism of the photo and the fish moving make it even better.

Our family was out for a walk this afternoon and grabbed a photo of our feet while we were walking. This would probably be better as part of a video but I like it anyway. Last summer, during our vacation to Washington DC, my son took a video of his feet while we navigating the subway and it was really a pretty interesting video to watch.

This photo was taken at one of the baseball parks in our area. This is the top of a chain link fence around the ball diamond. I guess they didn't want anyone to get hurt by the chain link. We never had this kind of protection and I made it to adulthood just fine.  :)

I pulled in the driveway tonight coming home from work and this fat little Robin was sitting on our grass. I stopped, rolled down my window and snapped a couple pictures. He didn't seem to be scared of me at all. I guess I wasn't really that close but the car was running and I had rolled down the window.

I'm hoping this means that Spring is right around the corner. We haven't had a bad winter but the last month or so has been rainy and chilly. I think I am definitely ready for the warmer weather.

The photo for today is similar to the one I took yesterday except that I have placed the house in front of the sunset so that it is shown in mostly silhouette.

I was late getting a photo for the day and I'm still not feeling well so I looked out the window and saw the sun shining on the one house and the tree and the rest of the scene in a sort a shadow. I do like images that have defined light and dark areas.

I remember a photo I got while I was in college where the sun was bright and I found a checkerboard pattern on the parking garage made out of light and dark areas. This isn't quite as dramatic but it is similar.

I had to snap a photo of this car with the hay on the roof. I was following it and when we got to the stop sign and I pulled up closer, I could see hay stashed inside the back of the car as well. If my little brother were here, he would say "Get a truck".

The photo for today shows what I have been using to alleviate the symptoms from some sickness. I don't know what I picked up but I was miserable.

This photo doesn't do justice to the scene I was seeing from the car. I was hoping to be able to see definition in the clouds but it isn't really there in this photo.

I started out with a colored photo of this scene but I didn't see the clouds the way I wanted them to be so I changed to black and white and it turned out closer to what I was seeing. I did make some minor adjustments to this photo before uploading it but I think the result was well worth it.

We went to the Roasdster show over the weekend and I wanted to share a few photos of the cars we saw there.

We went to the Roadster show today and while we were waiting to get in, I couldn't help myself, I had to take a picture of these shoes.  Nice shoes, huh?  I can't imagine walking around looking at cars for a couple hours while wearing these shoes.

I was waiting to pick up my wife and saw this radio controlled plane flying around. It's hard to follow a small plane with a zoomed in camera with the display showing on the LCD screen. I think it might have been easier to follow with my DSLR.

This is a photo of the moon coming up tonight. The moon is another of my favorite subjects to photograph. I have some tips on how best to do it and I couldn't remember them very well. I tried a few photos and came up with this one.

The thing about photographing the moon is that most people think you need to use a longer shutter speed because it is dark but as I learned a few years ago on the About.com web site, you will get better photos if you use a little faster shutter speed.

I am going to have dig up my notes on photographing the moon and try again.

These geese are watching all of the employees coming to work this morning. I have noticed the geese up on the building in the past and I was hoping to get a picture of them one day and today I lucked out and got that photo.

I've decided to change how I'm posting photos. Rather than post a single picture for each day, I'm going to start posting a weeks worth of photos in each post. So here goes...


Day 73 - March 4, 2012

Today's photo is all about rising gas prices. They have been going up like crazy although I understand that where we live is a little behind the rest of the country. I can't complain about that.

I walked out to go to work this morning and this is what I saw. This was a nice intro to the morning since we have had snow the last two days.

We had more snow today. I couldn't decide which photo I liked the best so I'm including both of them. I liked the first one but my daughter liked the second one so we each get one for the day.

I was using a slower shutter speed to try and capture the snow falling. I think it worked but I had to take several shots to get the result I was looking for.

This is my view on the way to work this morning. We woke up to snow and wind. Pardon the pun but it was a rather blue day...

I have been watching this building go up as I drive to work and drive home from work. I noticed the green material the day before as I was driving by and I thought it would make a cool photo. I was stopped for a light and was able to snap a quick photo of the building.

I was looking out the back door of our garage and noticed this bush. I like all the lines. I looks like a mess but I think it is interesting.

I was a little short on photos opportunities today so I ended playing with some photos of our keyboard. I have taken photos of this in the past but I never tried one from this angle. I'm not sure if I like it or not but it is a different perspective on the keyboard.
